The front walk outside the South Boathouse is lined with flower planters. The 8 foot wide hand laid brick walkway gently winds up the hill to a stone seating area for the breathless to rest at. From there one has a beautiful view of the river and it's sights. Father up nearer the stair steps is a large brass compass rose embedded in the brick work. Only a few steps at the end of the walkway and you are on the large front patio outside the Great Hall.
