The magnificent Drawing Room with its rose marble fireplace and numerous trophy heads is breathtaking to say the least. The secret passages surround the top of the room just beneath it's 18 foot beamed ceiling. Deep set window casings along the front wall are fitted with benches and tables built in so gaming or chatting could help pass the time with a great view of the river outside.
On the way to the Drawing Room one usually uses the main staircase walking past this huge 15th century tapestry covering the casement wall. From this angle it is hard to appreciate the magnificent six foot wide walnut stairway
