Having taken many on their Final Ride this hearse is now enjoying a life it never knew, in fact one that many hearses will never know.

The FYNLRYD is a 1947 Pontiac Silver Streak with a body by Superior Coach Works.

I purchased the FYNLRYD from DeHaven Enterprises of Virginia as a project car and most of the heavy modifications had already been completed.

The sub-frame from a 1967 Cadillac was stubbed in, drive train and the full exterior work had been completed, leaving mostly interior work left to do.

For power a modified 500 inch Caddy engine was chosen, coupled to a TH 400 transmission turning a Caddy rear to roll the new 15 inch rubber. The combo gives a righteous 15 MPG which isn't bad at all for a 5000 pound plus slab of steel with driver. Try and match that with your tin and plastic SUV!

A nice touch was the coffin storage box the DeHavens had built and it is a beautiful piece of work too as well as functional.

Since the FYNLRYD now resides in Oley, PA expect to see it at cruises and shows all over PA, and the surrounding states. Don't be surprised though if it shows up in Sherwood Oregon for their annual rod and customs bash.
